Aims and Scope

Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts (JBB) is an international journal devoted to advance and disseminate the high-quality original research, theory, and best practice of science and engineering in all fields of bioresource-related chemicals/materials and their advanced applications.

The Journal is peer-reviewed (first-round up to 3 weeks) and open-access (without processing and publication fee).

The Journal welcomes review, communication, and full paper (templates available). Contributions should focus on one or more of the following topics:

　　•　Cultivation and characterization of lignocellulosic biomass

　　•　Structure-property relationships of forest bioproducts and engineering wood products

　　•　Forest bioresource production and process

　　•　Chemical and physical modifications of cellulose and bioproducts

　　•　Conversion of forest bioresources into biomaterials, biochemical, biofuel and bioenergy from lignocelluloses

　　•　Bio-based nanomaterials and application

　　•　Bio-based stimuli materials for intelligent application

　　•　Lignocellulosic products, and cellulose-, hemicellulose-, and lignin-based products and composites

　　•　Agrochemical carriers from bioresources for plant growth

　　•　Pulping, papermaking and packaging technology

All articles will be submitted to scholarly research databases, including Science Index and Engineering Index.

Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts online by registering with this journal, logging in, clicking the New Submission link, and following the screen instructions through a five-step submission process.

There is no publishing or submission charges to the journal.

By submitting to JBB, the authors agree to the submission of their article to "Turnitin" for the sole purpose of detecting plagiarism.

NOTE: An authentication email is sent automatically, which requires the registrant to validate his or her email address. Users cannot log in to JBB’s web site until they validate their email addresses. Validation emails may be diverted to users' junk or trash folders. Submission topics must relate to bioresources and bioproducts and may be placed in the research articles section or review or opinion pieces or communications section.

Articles must be written in English. Major forms of standard written English (e.g. U.S., British,Australian) may be used, as long as one is consistent.

JBB Sections

Research Articles

JBB welcomes peer-reviewed scholarly articles that feature original research, theory, and best practice of science and engineering in all fields of bioresource-related chemicals/materials and their advanced applications. (3,500-7,000 words). Authors are required to use a template, so that the format, including the font styles, sizes, and margins, matches the example. Research articles, including all references, tables, and figures, should be 3,500-7,000 words and should not exceed 10,000 words. Submissions that significantly exceed this limit will not be accepted for review. Tables and figures are encouraged, and they should be placed within the text, not at the end.

A publishable paper should contain the following:

1. abstract (150-250 words, describing the research problem, the method, the basic findings, the conclusions, and the recommendations);

2. keywords;

3. introduction ;

4. experimental;

5. results and discussion;

6. conclusions;

7. acknowledgment;

8. references;

9.appendices.

Opinion Pieces

JBB accepts a limited number of opinion pieces, which will not be peer-reviewed, but selected based on the judgment of the editors that the ideas will help to stimulate a discussion among practitioners in the field of research and application of bioresources andbioproducts.?Prospective authors should use the exact format which is different from that used for research articles. Typically opinion piece contains 1 to 2 pages, following the required format

Review Articles

The state-of-the-art review articles will be accepted in areas of topical interest and will normally emphasise literature published over the previous five years. Authors who are planning major review articles are encouraged to contact the editor-in-chief or associate editors at an early stage to confirm that the topic is within the scope and interest of the journal. The required format is similar to that used for research articles, with the exception that headings such as "Experimental," "Results and Discussion," and "Conclusions" should be replaced with more appropriate contents. They should not exceed 13,000 words (not including references) and should contain no more than 9 figures and 7 Tables.

Communications

JBB welcomes high quality short communication. Highest priority will be given to those concise and up-to-date communications reporting important new scientific and technological findings. These articles should not exceed three-four published pages. No section headings should be used for these short communications.

Originality

Manuscripts submitted for review and possible publication in Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts (JBB) must be original material that has not been published nor submitted for review/publication elsewhere.

Publishing Previously Distributed Content

1. Every article must maintain a high quality of scholarship, not plagiarize the work of others, and make a contribution to the field of bioresources and bioproducts.

2. Articles published or under review by other peer review commercial or scholarly publishers are not eligible for publication in JBB.

3. Articles distributed as conference proceedings or self-published in blogs or institutional repositories should normally be revised substantially before review and possible publication by JBB. (The editor may ask to review in detail the publication/distribution history of any work to make this determination.)

4. Articles that appeared in conference proceedings or were self-published shall acknowledge this distribution history in a footnote.

5. Authors submitting articles that were previously distributed should detail the rationale for review and publication by JBB in a note to the editor.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

•　　Submission is in MS Word or rich text format.

•　　Submission is between 3,500 and 8,000 words.

•　　The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

•　　The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
